An old Scottish house, undated.

Manuscript essay on the history and legends surrounding Polwarth, home of the family and descendants of Patrick Hume, Earl of Marchmont (1641-1724). The essay also comments on the book Marchmont and the Humes of Polwarth, by Julian Margaret Maitland Warrender. The manuscript is signed A. Lang, 9 The Links [?], St. Andrews. In a silk protecting wrapper, and inserted in a crushed black morocco case (green on the inside), by Sangorski & Sutcliffe.
